"For the sound design for this production of The Tempest, the multiple Ariels are at the centerpiece. Early in the process, the Ariels were experimenting with vocal techniques (mouth clicking, breathings, long tones, shrieks, etc.) and songs. Upon hearing their work, I found all of these sounds elemental in some way (Earth, Water, Wind, Fire). I have since recorded these and am manipulating and layering to create these sonic textures of the elements. The music features water harp, kalimba, bells, and percussion to flesh out the song and dance sequences." -Bradford Chapin, Sound Designer
